Last weekend, Peter and I attended the union of Steve / ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) antlers2 and Kim at the capitol in Madison. The photos aren't the best, but they are photos nonetheless.

| Midwest Gaming Classic |

 Yesterday Peter and I went to the Midwest Gaming Classic at the Olympia Resort Center in Oconomowoc. Every year this thing has been getting bigger (so many unshowered masses and 'weekender' geeks, ack!), and in my opinion "badder" -- not in the good way. Yes, it still has pinball and arcades, but every year, the video games take over.
I liked the first couple of years we went when it was ~three small rooms full of mostly pinball and some arcades. Peter bought the Whirlwind machine during one of those years. He was actually semi-interested in buying another, if the right one appeared this year... but... the only interesting machine was listed "NFS." Ah well. Another time, another year. This year also brought the first "con chick in costume" I have seen, but I'm not sure sure what $random_anime_character has to do with pinball or arcades. I didn't look too closely though, perhaps it was $random_video_game_character. Meh.
Anywho, we played some pins, said hello to Dave (the guy Peter bought Whirlwind from several years back now), and picked up a couple business cards (scans of which are the only other thing in the photo album this year since I wasn't interested in taking photos really). :D We'll see what the future holds for Midwest Gaming Classic. It has been an interesting evolution so far.
Tonight it's off to Nanakusa for a sake tasting. I still have to get my notes up from the last one...

The new Rasputina CD I ordered, Melora a la Basilica, arrived today... as did a 500 gig hard drive. ^_^
Oh yeah, and I've been working on many photo galleries. You can snoop around on zenphoto after clicking the above photo, or you can wait until I tell you what's new. (The cruise isn't up yet...) Your choice. Dinner now though...

I purchased my laminate for Convergence 15: Long Beach just now. Peter booked our room the first day it was available, so no issue there. Just need to book air or train or whatever we are using to get to C15 now. YAY CONVERGENCE ON A BOAT! :D So it stays in port; there are other boats that sail.

Speaking of boats that sail... Peter and I are booked on GothCruise 6: Noir Noir, as well. For those that were thinking about it, but didn't get their payment in to secure the rate, there is still time to sign up and join us! I need to work on those ~3k photos from GC5 soon... oof.

Resized and uploaded photos three or so weekends ago, and today.
2008-07-31 to 2008-08-07 Brazil
189 photos uploaded, arranged on 11 pages. Nothing too exciting in these pics... we were there to visit Debora (who stayed with my family as a house guest when I was in high school) and her family prior to Debora's wedding; July 31, 2008 through August 7, 2008. (There are other photos from my parents' camera, but I haven't resized or added them to this folder yet...)
Next Brazil trip will be more exciting for the viewers at home, I am sure. :}
For the curious and/or bored, the few photos I have from my previous trip (snapped on a point and shoot film camera) are located here; these will be moved to Zenphoto some day.
Also uploaded, just now, are photos from Peter and my visit to the Milwaukee Public Museum on Monday to see the corpse flower:

This weekend I've worked a LOT on photos/photo stuff. I have cleaned up a lot of my mess on Zenphoto, started to move some of my galleries from the slow software of Gallery 2, and uploaded some images to my Facebook. I have a WHOLE lot more to do, but it's a (massive) start. I've also started uploading some videos to one of my YouTube accounts (yes, I have two accounts due to some confusion with that whole Google account thing). There will be more videos uploaded eventually, too.
... but with the weather being as nice as it is, and a pool shimmering in the backyard, I'm done with uploading and arranging for now. However, as my online "stuff" gets more organized, I become more interested in continuing to organize and use these sites.
So I'll renew my labor on Y!PP (since Three Rings, their sites, and the like were down from Friday until mid-yesterday), eat a little something, take a shower, and jump in the pool! ^_^

So...
I still get "Meetups in the Making" updates from Meetup.com. I'm not sure why I haven't unsubscribed from this list since the last Goth meetup occurred 3+ years ago, but I guess, my usual 5-second annoyance has been paid off today with a hearty laugh. :D The 'new blood' that sign up with an interest in getting the Goth meetup going again are truly a laugh (obviously I'm jellis :P).

I vaguely recalled the term "juggahos," and I thought "fams" out ("It *must* be based on the word family"), but "'lettes" had me stumped. Okay, it had to be short for something (hence the apostrophe at the beginning), but what? I knew I needed the assistance of Urban Dictionary. (Oh, dear me!)

258 photos uploaded, arranged on 18 pages. The first few pages of photos come from Coney Island... or what remains of it. I haven't added descriptions yet, but feel free to comment anyway. My camera is dying a slow death, and it will be obvious in some photos (random focus, random black sections, random lack of flash, etc.), but I kept most in the mix anyway, especially if there were people in the photos. Besides, the bad photos still might be more clear than the subjects' vision at the time or the subjects' memories of the time(s) now. ;}
